Day trip to Skaftafell and Svartifoss, Iceland

This past month, and all of summer really, went by with the blink of an eye. I have been working a lot, and on my free time I have showered, eaten and slept a little. Did also attend to a couple of partys.. (That just means less sleep.)

My roommate had her parents over for a visit, and they were heading to Skaftafell to see Svartifoss (translated: black waterfall). And it fit well with it being mine and another colleagues days off, so we got to join them!

Skaftafell is a part of Vatnajökull, which is the biggest glacier and national park in Europe. And Svartifoss has been a touristic place, but is still a place I would recommend. It is truly a beautiful waterfall. And the road to the waterfall too. I was told there is about a 40 minute walk from the parking lot, but I think we only used about 20 minutes to get there. It is a nicely made pathway and the last bit is a well used hiking trail.

And I want to thank my roommate parents and my awesome colleagues for a trip I will remember for life!
